Project: Update

I would like to have access to a data set that shows how full the Case shuttles are at what time and day. If I had this, I could sink it with weather data to determine if weather conditions have an impact on how full the shuttles are. A data set like this not publicly available, so I have been emailing people that work for transportation and safety at CWRU to find out if this data set exists and if I can have access to it. It is not clear who can provide me this data, so I have emailed 2 people so far. One has answered and said he can't help me and the other has not responded. I also talked to a shuttle driver who said that the percent capacity of each shuttle that is on the Spartan Ride app is not reliable. I will ask a few more people, but if it turns out this data set does not exist or is not accessible, than I will have to pivot slightly. I would most likely move to the RTA data, which there is a data set on ridership for the RTA. However, I would expect slightly different results because the RTA spans over a much larger area and the routes are less concentrated than in the shuttles. But it would still be an interesting project.
I also need to decide what variables I want to focus on. One option is to determine how weather impacts ridership and control for factors like shuttle frequency and number of shuttles. Another option is to determine how shuttle quality impacts ridership while controlling for weather data. I will need to decide which one is the more interesting project.

     Statistics exist to help make sense of a data set. However, statistics should only be used if you pick a model that makes the same assumptions as your data does. For example, you should only take the least squares and make a linear fit if the data is reasonably linear. This is true for any other type of fit as well such as quadratic or exponential. Homework: A Plot using ggplot

  This is a plot that I created in R. It uses the built in data set mpg that has information on cars  in the 2000's and 1990's. This plot is a bar graph of the number of cylinders the car has and is separated by the type of the car. This type of graph is good to see general trends by looking at the same color for the different values of x and for comparing those values with different classes of cars. However, since these are raw numbers, we cannot compare an SUV to a pickup truck if we do not know the number of data points for each class of vehicle
